Yankee imperialism out of Latin America!

¡Fuera el imperialismo yanqui de Latinoamérica!

Yankee imperialism, led today by Donald Trump, has launched a colonialist offensive whose spearhead is the Palestinian genocide carried out by its Zionist occupation state. However, imperialism wants more and is now targeting Venezuela and Colombia with the most powerful aircraft carrier in the world. And, as Lenin rightly said, capitalism in its phase of imperialist decay cannot produce anything other than more crises and wars—but also revolutions.

Back in 2019, during Trump’s first presidency, the U.S. threatened to intervene in Venezuela. At that time, we warned thatit is evident that conditions exist for a military coup against Maduro; the reactionary march on January 23 is proof of this. However, most Venezuelan officers still declare themselves ‘loyal’ to Maduro. The U.S. therefore threatens military invasion, although this option might receive far less support. The ‘Lima Group,’ for example, has spoken out against it”.

Today, however, conditions are different—not only because the Chavista officer corps is showing cracks, but also because Maduro is more politically isolated than ever, with Russia preoccupied with its own war and Iran encircled by Israel. Thus, the chances of a U.S. invasion of Venezuela and even Colombia are higher now than they were then—though this does not preclude a last-minute surrender pact between Trump, Maduro, and Petro.

In fact, Maduro has offered such a deal almost openly, emulating China, which already agreed with Trump to allow the plunder of its raw materials in exchange for a small tariff reduction. Petro, for his part, continues quietly selling coal to Israel. Thus, the “progressive” governments of the native bourgeoisies cannot be trusted at all; they have already delivered themselves to imperialism as semi-colonies and would even be willing to collaborate with openly colonial governments so long as they receive a small share of the surplus value extracted by transnational corporations.

The only truly anti-imperialist forces here are the working and peasant masses, who must self-organize, arm themselves, and seize factories and land to confront any military aggression, whether external or internal. Evidently, it would be ultra-leftist not to provide military support to the Maduro or Petro governments if they were to offer real resistance against a potential U.S. invasion. However, this must not imply any kind of political support, since these are anti-worker governments that will have to be overthrown at the appropriate moment if the struggle against the U.S. is to succeed.

Thus, only through international socialist revolution and the dictatorship of the proletariat will it be possible not only to prevent South America from being enslaved but also to end the hunger suffered by the masses under various models of capitalism—models that in bankrupt countries like Bolivia today reveal their truly reactionary face. The “21st-century socialism” promoted by the Bolivarians turned out to be yet another historical farce meant to deceive the proletariat and prevent its independent political development. Without confronting this farce, it will never be possible to defeat U.S., European, or Japanese imperialism.

The exploited masses of the entire continent—from Canada to Tierra del Fuego—must mobilize immediately against the crimes and threats of imperialism. The colonial occupation war must be transformed into a revolutionary civil war for true socialism. In the face of reformist collaborationism, today more than ever we must revive the refounding of the Fourth International.
